Standard rate for moving home
From 1st October 2021
Up to £125,0000: 0%
From £125,001 to £250,000: 2%
From £250,001 to £925,000: 5%
From £925,001 to £1.5m: 10%
Over £1.5m: 12%
Additional home and first-time buyer
If you buy a second home in England or Northern Ireland you have to pay an additional 3% on top of the standard rate.
First time buyers can claim First Time Buyer Relief up to £500,000 (0% to £300,000 then 5% to £500,000).
